Thrift is an independent bakery in the heart of Wimbledon, serving fresh organic bread, seasonal sandwiches and a daily spread of sweet baked goods.
We care deeply about where our food comes from. That’s why we work with UK-based suppliers and grain farmers, using only high-quality ingredients to create bakes that are as nourishing as they are delicious. From hand-shaped sourdough to cakes made with heritage flour, everything we make is rooted in honest, wholesome baking.

A Message From Sam
Hi, I’m Sam - a musician come baker. I started Thrift because I believe good bread shouldn’t be a privilege. After moving to Wimbledon, I saw a need for something simple, local and made with care.
Thrift began as a personal project. I trained at The Dusty Knuckle and slowly built up the skills (and nerve) to open a place of my own. I’ve always believed that if something matters to you, you just have to dive in and give it your best shot. That mindset is what led me here.
This space is as much about people as it is about food. Some days I’m up at 4am after a late gig, half asleep but wide awake when someone tells me they love the bread. That feeling - the act of giving, the rhythm of making, the small moments of connection - that’s what keeps me going.
